Studying the First Peoples of the Four Corners Region

Exploring NE New Mexico to SW Colorado From Santa Fe to Mesa Verde Puye Cliff Dwellings  You need only a 1/2 day to visit the Puye Cliff Dwellings and I highly recommend staying in Santa Fe since it is only a 35 minute drive from Santa Fe.  I have been there three times and I learned something new each time.  Our last tour we did was only an hour, which is the Mesa Top tour. ...

Hitting the Road

Well, here we go. We're packing bags and stuff into the RV and getting ready to head out. We've planned for this trip since before our oldest was born, but still no planning can plan everything. Really, we were going to start this trip in the spring of 2020... but, well, that didn't happen along with everything else we had "planned" for the year! So, we've regrouped and here we are in 2021....

And the Trailer is Finished

Well, we got word today that our Travel Trailer is finished! Hooray! It looks AMAZING! It's ready to go and needs to be picked up... just in time right? Now that the world is shutting down, we have no idea when or even IF we'll get to see it. In the mean time, you can join us in looking at the amazing pictures and dreaming of dreaming in it, hopefully someday soon! Our Remodeled Travel Trailer -...

The Trailer of our Dreams!

Well, today...

So far here's what we've looked and and how we've considered the options. Schoolbus Conversion We talked about this first idea in a prior post and how it ended up as a dead-end. To recap, here are the pros and cons:...

What about an Airstream?

So with the "schoolie" School Bus conversion project off the radar, we're thinking about an Airstream. They're classic. They're beautiful (if you get a good one, or remodel one). And perhaps it would work as our home away from home. But... the practical details! Here's what it comes down to: Drivable

Should we Build Out a Schoolbus?

So we've all been seeing these amazing Instagram posts about people who have customized Schoolbusses into Motorhomes. Perhaps like us, you've seen the YouTube channels of families living in these homes-on-wheels. It looks pretty awesome. So, should we pursue the bus route? Well, it turns out after looking into it quite a bit, the answer is maybe, but probably no. Why? It comes down to insurance....

Hello World!

Well, here it is. The website for Year of America. We've only been planning for this trip for about 10 years! The first step before anything is, of course, a website. We're excited for the road ahead and the adventure soon to begin. This website will serve as our home base away from home for keeping in touch with you. We hope you will follow along with our family on our journey as we seek to...
