This trip has been a long time in the the mind, and a little less in the making.  Our vision for it started when our oldest child was just a baby.  Someday, we thought, when our kids were old enough, we envisioned a trip across the United States, visiting every state in the union and learning about our country’s history, people, places and cultures first-hand rather than just reading about it in a book in middle school “America History” class.

Well, a decade and some time later, we’re ready to get started.  A fair bit has changed in the world since the idea sprouted, but the vision remains the same.  See the many faces and places that make the United States of America one country.
