Well, here it is. The website for Year of America. We’ve only been planning for this trip for about 10 years! The first step before anything is, of course, a website. We’re excited for the road ahead and the adventure soon to begin.
This website will serve as our home base away from home for keeping in touch with you. We hope you will follow along with our family on our journey as we seek to discover America first-hand. Our goal is for our kids to learn about our country not from a book alone, but by seeing it, meeting the people who live in it, experiencing all the culture, diversity, food, places and spaces – the good, the bad, the ugly, the great – that are what the USA is today.
Before we hit the road we have many things we’ll have to figure out, like what kind of vehicle will we do it in for starters! What about the routes we’ll take? The timing of this all? How will we work, school, live? There’s lots to figure out, but hey, that is how all great journeys start, right? And, we’ll share what we learn with you along the way.
